Chinese New Year 10th February 2013

Let me start this post of with Gong Hei Fat Choi (Happy Chinese New Year, in Cantonese) to everyone celebrating.

It's the year of the 'Snake' and I celebrated with my friends at 'Kpop' (CNY club promotion event) and it was awesome, besides the two hour entry wait outside the club because 'Revolutions' has a new security procedure where they take photos of you and your I.D. and because of this it took forever to get inside.

Once in, the party started, mad drinking, mad dancing and bare jokes shared by everyone.

The mean reason why I was celebrating there was because I had one friends birthday and another friends leaving party. Who will be leaving the country with no current plans to return and the worse part is I didn't even get to see him ¬_¬' How lame is that!?? Very LAME,

Closer to the end of the night we moved onto Chinatown where we ate at the legendary after party night restaurant to go to '1997'. Not a completed night-out, without getting some food from here. Also got some extra food for takeaway. With the amount of alcohol I had my stomach was definitely going to need it in the morning.

I crashed at my friends house, which we reached around 7:30AM although we have no idea how it took us so long. We left the club before 4AM and with an average calculation of time spent travelling and eating we somehow lost a hour, crazy.

Anyway the takeaway food was perfect in the morning too.

Why is cold Chinese food or matter of fact most takeaway foods like 'Pizza' in the morning or the day after taste so good?

Slept for about four hours and once I wake up. I stay up. Good thing too because me and my friend had to travel back to my area because we had a CNY dinner party to attend. My voice was so rough as well. I must have been screaming my head off.

However we still showed up late, probably because we were playing 'Scott Pilgrim vs the world' first time I've played it and its so addictive.

The dinner party was great. We hooked up two xbox 360's and played eight player 'Bomberman' and of course some 'Call of Duty Black Ops 2'. The highlight game of the party was 'Articulate' can't mess with the old school classic board games. Always good time.

Then it started snowing which was a awesome end to the evening.

Below is a link to BBC News article on the parade that took place during the day, enjoy.

40 Days, 40 Nights was easy? Still got 325 days. . .

Today is the 40th day of my no sexual interaction (celibacy) for one of my new year revolution challenges.

Funny enough one of my most favourite films is '40 days and 40 nights'. A romantic comedy about a guy called 'Matt' played by 'Josh Hartnett' who is broken after his long relationship with a women and finds no trouble getting women into bed but can't find that emotional connection most seek for. Due to the lack of an emotional connection when he comes close to climaxing a dark whole appears above him and he panics. Needless to say no climax.

I don't know about everyone else but no climax for most guys pretty much means the end of the world.
As the film progress he finds out that his ex 'Susie' played by 'Emmanuelle Vaugier' is engaged and getting married. Matt decides to seek advise from his brother about he's emotional state who is a priest in training. Matt then decides to make a vow of celibacy for the '40 Days of Lent'.

During the rest of the film Matt meets the girl of his dreams (one day ^_^ if I haven't already), 'Erica' played by 'Shannyn Sossamon' and is unable to do anything about it physically.

Now during his '40 Days of Lent' he starts to suffer hallucinations about women and the fact that his roommate and friends at work started a betting on how long he could last.
They created a website that people around the world could bet too didn't help as women in the work place and around his life try to entice him off the righteous path.

I can't say I've suffered hallucinations yet however the dreams I have been having are crazy mental. That's right i said crazy and mental neither should make either redundant because intent was to describe the level of insanity brought fourth and I plan to survive the whole year without knowing what the future holds. Bring it on.

I can fully appreciate the fact that for some people it takes deep mediation and focus (example Monks) however I know with my philosophy everything is within are powers within it be physical or mental and we decide what we personally do.

One of my favourite parts of the film is how they describe the 'THE SPECIAL SPOT' a place where you feel at ease and can enjoy your existence and everything around you. I can personally say I've only shared this with two women in my life and I truly believe in the importance of the first KISS.

I hope everyone enjoyed this blog I know I haven't done many personal blogs but there will he more so I hope you all follow.

Drinks, Food and Magic

Was out today catching up with a good friend I haven't hanged out with for almost a year properly till today. It was about time we caught up with each another.
We talked about whats current in our lives and whats been getting us down, which for me it was related to work. Having to deal with horrible people and thieves and the mental impact its starting to have on me.

For my friend it was more about family stress and issues, which I won't go into any details about as its not my life and its not my place to be stating other peoples person lives on my blog.

We were having a few drinks in Moon Underwater (Montagu Pyke - Chain of the JDwetherspoon Company) as it was known back in the days when we used to venture there in our troubled youth.

We then moved onto 'VIET Pho' My friend's friend restaurant. 'VIET Pho' is a really nice and quaint Vietnamese restaurant just around the corner from Moon and very close to Chinatown. The food was gorgeous very tasty, well prepared and presented.

I loved the decor so much I made comments on it quite a few times. I loved the symmetry and the use of white, red and grey colours. The Lighting was well placed as well. If you have never been I would definitely recommend it specially if you enjoy Vietnamese cuisine. The Restaurant is highly recommend by others and has great reviews (supporting links and address at the bottom).

During are time there it came to closing time. Seating with my friend's friends and after few late introductions I notice one person was playing with cards in his hands. There was something about him, he was admitting a very powerful but unusual aura. I was intrigued and I asked show me some magic tricks not even knowing if he could. It just felt like he could. This is the moment I met Calen Morelli.
Calen Morelli is a magician that has worked for David Copperfield, David Blaine, Theory 11 and of course Paper Crane, all well known.

It's one thing to see magician on TV specially after watching Dynamo last month but seeing it in person was amazing, shocking and incredible.

Calen is in London from American working and I felt blessed he honoured us with some magic tricks. Made my whole night. I wish I had brought my SLR out with me. Truly awesome guy with a bright future ahead. Below I have added some vids I took of Calen performing for us. Enjoy;

Fitness - Part 2, Focus by Preparation.

Part 2 focuses on the factors of preparation and how not only should you have a detailed plan but also have focus factors in place to keep you motivated and engaged.
One of the steps towards advancement is having a detail plan of how your going to excel. However how can you progress if your not fully prepared for what lays ahead.
Preparation obviously involves planning and as a Virgo were very analytical and attention to detail is very appointment. I pretty much plan and schedule everything I am going to do. Routine creatures great structure which in turn promotes positive habits, well assuming what you have planned is positive and beneficial =P

Planning:

When it comes to planning whether you have designed a workout plan for the month or two what you should consider before anything else is how you are going to fit this into your daily life. Don't make the mistake many have. The path to fitness and health is a life style. You have to live and breath it. Working out is only a small part of fitness and health.

The main factors of consideration towards health and fitness is knowing your body and mind set. Once you have determine these you can make a detail plan of how your going to progress towards greatness.

Body and Mind Set:
  1. Fitness, health Aims and why?
  2. Mindset (FitnessME) - Do you know how to stay motivated and focus?
  3. Body Type - Do you know your workout body type?
  4. Workout Time - Morning, Night or both time frames for workouts?
  5. Your workout style - How long is your workout going to be?
  6. Sleep - How many hours of sleep do you need to be fully rested and regenerated?
  7. Dedication to work/career - Hour many hours do you spend at work (including the time it takes you to get to work and come home)
  8. SWOT Analyst
  9. SMART and Objective Planning
  10. Workout Plan - Creating or following a workout plan
I am going to start posting everyday about my daily workouts and what I did and as I do this I will be posting separate in-depth blogs for each 'Body and Mind Set' i've outlined so far I am to do these post at less once a week if not more.

Please keep in mind this is just the beginner and by far noway near the end.

Personal Fitness - Part 1, Intro

Afternoon everyone and to the other side of the world good morning.

Its about time I start blogging about my fitness again. Anyone that knows me well enough will know how much I am interested in personal fitness and keeping fit.

Last year one of my new year revolutions was to work out for the whole year. I came so close but I broke my continuous training for about three to four months. The start of this year I haven't done as much as I should have and already failed my new years revolutions to run everyday.

So from this point onwards I am going to make a change. Never try and pick a date of when your going to start, just do it now. Stop putting things off because it will become a focus of habit and you will never stop doing it. Why do later what you can do now.

The trick I found to stay on board with my fitness is using monitors, review and goals techniques. Also a planned workout structure for a month or longer, which will change keeping the body on its toes. Doing the same thing over and over gets boring and once your body gets used to it you tend to lose focus and tempo.

I follow various fitness icons such as Shaun T and his Insanity workout. Hiitsdaily from bodyrock.tv, Mike Chan - Six pack shortcut, Zuzana Light - Zcuts/Zwarriors and ToneItUp. Besides being inspirational characters I pick up lots of different exercises and tips that I can blend into my own workouts.

I designed my own workouts and a few years ago I was posting them up as well, which was called the Poo Pow workouts. The name came from a concept I developed in relation to a 'frame of mind'. A mindset that promotes self worth and acceptance. I also plan on blogging about my philosophy because I genuinely feel that it has helped me a lot and others can benefit from it as well.

I plan on using my blog to document, monitor and review my progress, at some point soon I would like to (and plan to) start posting my own fitness videos as well. As I post, I am going to include documented workout plans, how to manager your calorie intake, staying focus, supplements, and so much more. If any of it helps I am glad if there's anything anyone feels will be of a benefit please share with me because I am always open to new concepts and ideas.
so keep a eye on this space its because when I go in I don't mess about.  I am also going to be posting on facebook, twitter and on my tribesports accounts (links also available at the top of the blog) and if you don't know what tribesports is check the link here http://tribesports.com its basically the fitness social site version of facebook.

I also plan on doing separate blogs for each fitness person I follow just to show my appreciation to them.
